In order to install a new drinking water pipe under a water way, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) can be a suitable method. However, if there is already an existing pipe that needs renovation, significant cost and time savings can be realised by using relining methods like Primus Line^®.

By using the existing pipe, geotechnical and hydrogeological issues are eliminated and construction risk is minimised. The pipes are often characterised by long lengths with bends in the pipe route and are only accessible on either side of the water way. A rehabilitation with the Primus Line^® system combines the advantage of using the existing pipe, the lining material's capability to traverse bends and also the installation of long lengths.
