Situation
An old DN 400 drinking water main made of asbestos cement was in urgent need of rehabilitation since recent pipe breaks temporally interrupted the water supply for the residents of nearby villages. Due to the time available and the accessibility of the line, the trenchless renovation with Primus Line® was preferred to an open construction method.
Due to rocky landscape and the geology of the terrain, an open construction would have been costly and difficult
To reduce the risk of failure of the alternative water supply, only 4 days were planned for the entire renovation work
A carbon footprint analysis showed amazing results regarding emission savings of trenchless technologies compared to open construction
