Features and advantages of temporary surface pipes

These are pipelines that can withstand high pressures of up to 290 psi, whereas a conventional bypass is only designed for 145 psi. The pipelines are laid above ground for a limited period of time, mainly to transport wastewater or production water to or from oil, gas or mining production sites.

Laying these pipes is useful for short-term activities and in cases where an underground pipeline is considered impractical. In addition, they have a smaller environmental footprint: they are a trenchless solution, require no to minimal vegetation clearance and can often be laid on top of an existing pipeline or in the trench of an access road.

The F-Liner by Primus Line combines all these properties – and even more. Its three-layer structure – thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) as inner and outer layer and an aramid fabric as reinforcement – not only offers high chemical resistance and flexibility, but also extremely high tensile strength for complete, independent pressure absorption. In addition, its flexibility makes it reusable and allows it to be used several times. Specially developed connectors complete the system and make Primus Line® Overland Piping safe and reliable.
